SuperTennis Awards 2022: Musetti batte Sinner e Berrettini. Tutti i riconoscimenti

Nella serata di ieri, a Genova, sono andati in scena i SuperTennis Awards, consueta kermesse di fine anno che assegna gli “Oscar” italiani del tennis e del padel. Grande festa nel team Musetti: Lorenzo è stato premiato come miglior giocatore azzurro del 2022, Simone Tartarini come miglior coach. Di seguito tutti i riconoscimenti assegnati.

Due titoli Atp: il 500 di Amburgo, vinto battendo in finale Carlos Alcaraz; il 250 di Napoli, vinto battendo in finale Matteo Berrettini. A 20 anni Musetti ha trovato la sua consacrazione tra migliori giocatori al mondo, chiudendo il 2022 da 23esima forza del circuito maschile. E soprattutto lo ha fatto a suon di fantasia e giocate spettacolari.

Roland Garros, il legame indissolubile tra la Trevisan e la Navratilova

Un titolo Wta, il primo della sua carriera, conquistato a Rabat. Una semifinale Slam, arrivata al Roland Garros. Numero 28 del ranking mondiale. Per distacco, la miglior giocatrice italiana del momento.

Impresa dell’anno: Lorenzo Sonego

Promosso a numero due della selezione azzurra di Coppa Davis dopo gli infortuni di Sinner e Berrettini, Sonego ha battuto Tiafeo e Shapovalov consentendo all’Italia di continuare a sognare. Come sempre, la grinte non gli è mancata.

Ha iniziato l’anno da numero 605 al mondo, lo chiuderà da numero 119. Ha vinto il suo primo torneo Challenger (a Trieste) e ha esordito nel circuito Atp sul cemento di Firenze. Il tutto condito da una meritatissima qualificazione alle Next Gen Finals di Milano. Quanto ha realizzato Passaro nel 2022 è semplicemente straordinario.

Altro giocatore che sta continuando a crescere e che, nel frattempo, già si è tolto parecchie soddisfazioni. Tra cui, quella di vincere un titolo Challenger (a Francavilla), quella di debuttare nel circuito maggiore (agli Internazionali d’Italia) e quella di prendere parte alle Next Gen Finals. Arnaldi ha scalato più di 200 posizioni nell’ultimo anno (ora è numero 134). Nel 2023 promette un ulteriore grande salto.

Next Gen femminile: Matilde Paoletti

Ha iniziato la stagione da numero 890, la chiuderà da numero 298. Ha vinto il suo primo titolo ITF, a Verbier. A 19 anni, Paoletti è sicuramente il miglior prospetto del tennis femminile italiano. Non vediamo l’ora che esploda definitivamente.

Miglior torneo: ATP 250 di Firenze. “Perfettamente organizzato e molto apprezzato dagli spettatori, il torneo fiorentino ha soprattutto dimostrato quanto efficace e produttiva possa essere la collaborazione tre FITP e autorità locali nell’organizzare grandi eventi che promuovono lo sport e valorizzano il territorio sul quale si svolgono”.

Dirigente dell’anno: Gianfranco Nirdaci. “E’ stato il dirigente cui per molti anni la FIT ha affidato il dossier Padel e, in tale veste, ha innescato il travolgente successo di questa disciplina, avviandola a diventare il colosso che è oggi”.

Insegnante dell’anno: Marco Lubrano. “Insegnante di grande professionalità, competenza e passione, distintosi nella sua carriera ed in particolare nel 2022 sia come Fiduciario dell’Istituto Superiore di Formazione “R.Lombardi”, che come Tecnico di giovani promesse e Direttore dei Centri Estivi della FITP”.

Premio Guido Oddo: Piero Guerrini. “Brillante e competente quando scrive, lucido e appassionato quando fa scrivere i suoi collaboratori, Guerini ha fatto di Tuttosport uno dei quotidiani che più hanno sostenuto la crescita del Tennis e del Padel, raccontandoli e spiegandoli ai propri lettori”.

Wheelchair: Luca Arca. “Esempio di tenacia e dedizione, in questa stagione Luca ha raggiunto il suo best ranking nella classifica mondiale: 24esima posizione (miglior giocatore italiano) che lo proietta verso la partecipazione alle Paralimpiadi di Parigi 2024. Nel 2022 ha vinto due tornei: l’”Hungarian Open 1” Futures Olimpia sportpark e il “Commit open” Futures a Padova”.

Miglior coppia di padel maschile: Francesco Spurio-Matteo Sargolini. “Spurio e Sargolini hanno vinto il titolo italiano under 16, il torneo FIP Promises di Ostia categoria U16 maschile e il Master finale nazionale del nuovo circuito giovanile. Hanno fatto parte della nazionale italiana maschile che ha chiuso terza ai Campionati europei di Valencia”.

Miglior coppia di padel femminile: Caterina Calderoni-Matilde Del Col Balletto. “Calderoni-Del Col Balletto hanno vinto il torneo FIP Promises di Ostia categoria U16/18 femminile e la “tappa de oro” del Foro Italico del nuovo circuito nazionale giovanile. Hanno fatto parte della nazionale italiana femminile che ha chiuso terza ai Campionati europei di Valencia”.

Miglior coppia di beach tennis: Giulia Gasparri-Ninny Valentini. “Attualmente coppia n.1 del ranking mondiale, sono campionesse italiane e mondiali 2022 e hanno conquistato con la maglia azzurra il titolo nel Campionato del mondo a squadre (World Cup)”.

Miglior giocatore del circuito TPRA: Luigi Croci. “Un premio alla carriera per chi incarna perfettamente lo spirito partecipativo, di divertimento e sportivo dell’attività amatoriale TPRA, coniugando empatia personale e risultati. Iscritto dal 2015, ha vinto 328 tornei con una striscia positiva di 152 partite consecutive. Nel 2022 ha disputato 46 tornei vincendone 40”.
