Musetti prenderà parte all’ultimo di questi, come rivelato dall’entry list pubblicata dagli organizzatori del torneo. Una lista di giocatori di primissimo ordine, tra cui spiccano il top10 Andrey Rublev, i top20 Karen Khachanov e Frances Tiafoe, Francisco Cerundolo, Marin Cilic (PR), Jan-Lennard Struff, Laslo Djere, Milos Raonic (PR), Christopher Eubanks, Arthur Fils, Botic van de Zandschulp e Miomir Kecmanovic, tra gli altri.
Un tabellone importante che, purtroppo, non vede il nome di Berrettini e Nardi. I due, infatti, figurano tra gli alternates, ovvero quei giocatori che aspettano un ritiro per entrare direttamente nel main draw senza dover passare per le qualificazioni. Ad oggi il nome di Matteo figura al nono posto di questa speciale classifica di tennisti, mentre quello di Luca addirittura al ventesimo.
Solo ipotesi più che ottimistiche li vedrebbero impegnati direttamente nel tabellone principale. Nardi, al contrario del collega, potrebbe benissimo giocare le qualificazioni e tentare così l’accesso al main draw.
Con tutta probabilità, invece, Berrettini potrebbe provare a vedere se negli altri tornei in programma ha più chance di entrare direttamente in tabellone o di chiedere una wildcard in uno di queste tre competizioni in programma (si tratta pur sempre di un finalista slam che porta appassionati allo stadio, un’occasione ghiotta per ogni organizzazione).
