Masters 1000 Parigi-Bercy, Alcaraz riparte: non è al meglio, ma per il momento basta

Esordio vincente per Carlos Alcaraz al Masters 1000 di Parigi-Bercy. Reduce da un bye al primo turno, il numero uno al mondo ha battuto in due set Yoshihito Nishioka, guadagnandosi gli ottavi di finale del torneo.

Complice un piccolo fastidio al ginocchio, il classe 2003 murciano non ha espresso un livello di tennis eccelso, ma la sua prestazione è stata comunque sufficientemente buona: quanto basta per liberarsi del ventisettenne nipponico. Quest’ultimo, giocatore battagliero e frizzante, ha lottato quasi alla pari con lo spagnolo tuttavia è venuto letteralmente meno nei momenti chiave nella sfida. Il prossimo avversario di Carlitos sul cemento indoor transalpino sarà uno tra il nostro Fabio Fognini e il bulgaro Grigor Dimitrov.

Ha impiegato poco meno di un’ora e un quarto (1 h e 13 minuti) Alcaraz per superare l’ostacolo Nishioka ai sedicesimi del Masters 1000 di Parigi-Bercy: 6-4 6-4 il punteggio al termine dell’incontro. Ecco come è andata in sintesi.

La partita

Nelle fasi iniziali del match si è giocato pochissimo: in quattro game l’unico a conquistare un punto in risposta è stato Nishioka. Il primo strappo, invece, è arrivato nel quinto gioco, ad opera di Alcaraz, bravo a concretizzare la seconda delle due chance di break a sua disposizione. Il giapponese, però, ha riagganciato lo spagnolo poco più tardi, mettendo a segno il controbreak nell’ottavo game. Dopodiché, quello decisivo si è rivelato il nono gioco, con Carlitos che ha piazzato la zampata che in seguito gli ha consentito di chiudere con un 6-4.

Al rientro in campo Alcaraz ha subito tentato di dare un’ulteriore sterzata alla sfida. Ma Nishioka è riuscito ad annullargli un’opportunità di break in apertura. Successivamente – come ad inizio incontro – si è assistito ad una serie di game estremamente veloci. Alla fine, è stato ancora nel non gioco che il giovane iberico ha centrato il break che poi gli ha permesso di chiudere con un altro 6-4.

Grazie a tale successo, Alcaraz ha fatto un altro passo verso la chiusura dell’anno da numero uno al mondo. Come riporta il Ranking Atp Live, infatti, lo spagnolo adesso è a quota 6730 punti. Dovesse qualificarsi ai quarti andrebbe a 6820. Rafael Nadal – l’unico giocatore che può sottrargli il primato – potrebbe spingersi al massimo a 6810.
