Con la sconfitta all’esordio contro Taylor Fritz, Rafael Nadal ha cominciato nella maniera peggiore le sue Finals. Un dato quantomeno curioso, per uno che guida la classifica all-time dei vincitori Slam, con ben 22 trionfi. Ma come tutti sanno, la superficie e le condizioni non sono quelle più gradite al maiorchino (per usare un eufemismo), che sul cemento indoor non è mai riuscito ad esprimere il suo tennis migliore.
A tutto questo va aggiunto, ora, il momento non certo più felice dal punto di vista della forma fisica. E infatti, contro lo statunitense, è arrivata una sconfitta netta, almeno per quanto riguarda quanto si è visto nel secondo set: dopo una prima frazione persa al tie-break, Nadal è crollato 6-1 sotto i colpi precisi e potenti di Fritz.
E così, per la prima volta da tredici anni a questa parte, il 14 volte campione del Roland Garros, ha dovuto registrare un filotto di ben tre sconfitte consecutive. L’ultima volta, appunto, risale al 2009 e, anche in quel caso, il periodo dell’anno era lo stesso, ossia quello che coincide con il Masters 1000 di Parigi Bercy e le Atp Finals.
