Dal 4 al 13 novembre, a Milano, andranno in scena le Next Gen ATP Finals. Un evento da seguire con grande interesse visto che saranno protagonisti i migliori otto under-21 del panorama tennistico mondiale. Si prevede, pertanto, la presenza di due azzurri. Andiamo a scoprire di più!
La situazione degli italiani nella Race to Milan
Ovviamente, il primo tra i giocatori italiani delle categoria è Jannik Sinner. Quest’ultimo, fino alla settimana scorsa, era anche il leader della classifica generale, ma è stato sorpassato da Felix Auger-Aliassime dopo l’exploit del canadese agli US Open. L’altoatesino, tuttavia, è già sicuro della sua qualificazione per il torneo milanese.
Il secondo tra gli azzurri è Lorenzo Musetti, sesto nella graduatoria generale. Anche il toscano ha perso una posizione a vantaggio di Jenson Brooksby, talento statunitense che ha fatto molto bene sul cemento di New York. Muso, adesso, dovrà provare a contrattaccare o quanto meno a difendersi dall’ascesa dei vari Juan Manuel Cerundolo, Brandon Nakashima e, soprattutto, Holger Rune. Il danese, reduce dalla buona prestazione contro Novak Djokovic, è da mesi in grande spolvero.
Poi, troviamo Flavio Cobolli e Giulio Zeppieri, in quattordicesima e quindicesima piazza. Entrambi stanno proseguendo il loro percorso di crescita nel migliore dei modi, ma sono a tantissimi punti dalla zona qualificazione. Magari parteciperanno nel 2022 prendendosi la scena.
Infine, per la cronaca, ci sono Luciano Darderi, Matteo Arnaldi, Federico Arnaboldi e Luca Nardi rispettivamente alle posizioni 43, 50, 52, 59.

Sono quattro i giocatori già sicuri della loro presenza alle Next Gen ATP Finals. Si tratta di Felix Auger-Aliassime, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz e Sebastian Korda.
