Nella prima giornata dello US Open 2022 siamo stati testimoni di un gran bel gesto di sportività di Francisco Cerundolo verso Andy Murray. Vediamo insieme cosa è successo nella partita d’esordio del britannico.
Doppio rimbalzo e punto all’avversario
Durante una delle fasi più calde del match tra l’argentino e lo scozzese (servizio Cerundolo sul 45 0-15 del primo set) abbiamo potuto ammirare un gesto di grande lealtà. Murray si presenta a rete e colpisce una volée che sembra perfetta. Cerundolo in spaccata riesce ad arrivarci, costringendo l’avversario a un difficilissimo rovescio tornando indietro, e a colpire la volée successiva aggiudicandosi il colpo.
L’ex numero 1 del mondo, però, recrimina per un doppio rimbalzo che l’arbitro non segnala e che è evidente solo grazie al replay. È proprio a quel punto che il numero 24 del seeding ammette il doppio rimbalzo, concedendo il punto all’avversario e guadagnandosi l’applauso della folla e il grande rispetto di Andy (che gli farà molti complimenti a fine partita per la sportività dimostrata).
